The Waypoint is a curatorial project started by independent curator Mike Bianco in 2006. At the conceptual foundation of the project are notions of mobile exhibition, the renaissance of cartographic techniques in cultural production, and a dedication to promoting and exhibiting emerging cultural practices around the globe. The ambition of the Waypoint is to promote a discourse about contemporary cultural production beyond both regional and national borders via a rhizomic curatorial structure that utilizes nodular exhibitions and ICT (Information Communication Technology) dissemination.
